What is the mission of the Online Artist in Residence program?​

The history of art is filled with new materials that are originally meant to supplement existing traditions that eventually become traditions themselves.  What are the tools of cyberspace that make it a unique, vibrant and original art making medium?

Manifesto-ish.com AIR Projects seek to create a unique artistic environment, an experience tailor-made for digital viewing. It is not meant to simply bring news of copies of original objects. The work created here is about, of and by the digital world. The materials are the networks, apps, data, and connections that underlie the internet. This site is a firsthand experience with nothing lost in its function, only gained.

What's in it for me?

Access to our online tools, web space, audience, social networks and virtual gallery.
Feedback from Manifesto-ish founders, members and casual participants.
Based on fund raising, we may be able to provide some financial assistance.
The opportunity to explore a new and exciting concept, and create work that has never before been explored.

How does it work?

​

Artists will be given a project space that they will have full access to create, edit and define.  This project space will be available for all to see on our website under the Artist in Residence tab. 

​​

 

Artists will be given access to post to and build upon our social networking tools.  They will also be able to use our Google+ hangouts to stream and record content to our Youtube account.

​​

Artists will have the opportunity to get technical support, feedback and critiques via a range of mediums including group video chats via Google+ hangouts.

​

Artists who choose to have a gallery show in the virtual gallery will receive assistance in setting up a live opening, artist talk or other events.

• Writers - 6 pages of written examples

• Performing Artists – Documentation (preferably video) of 6 pieces  

• Multidisciplinary Artists – send appropriate sample consistent with above guidelines
